Note We have a test unit in Gedern, and you cannot book it: the X1 does not exist in the xTool demo system yet, and it is not on sale yet either. What it is meant to replace you can already put your hands on — CO₂ cutting on the P2 in the Hirzenhain workshop, galvo engraving on the F2 Ultra in Gedern. Book either of those and say the X1 is what you are curious about; it will be standing next to you when you come.

What it actually takes up
The dimensions are the manufacturer figures. The clearance next to them is not: that is our own estimate from running these machines — room for workpieces beside it, for hose and cable behind it, and for the lid or your hands above it. That is the number no data sheet carries.

Careful: the dimensions here are extrapolated, not measured — xTool publishes neither external dimensions nor a work area for the X1 so far. They are extrapolated against our P2S, which has the same shape; the X1 is noticeably taller and somewhat wider. The weight is documented: 65 kg, and that does not belong on a folding table. Our test unit sits on the xTool rolling stand, which is not a matter of looks: at this mass, a base that carries the machine and still moves is part of the purchase. Extraction on top of that, which CO₂ cutting requires anyway. If you are planning the space now, plan generously — the dependable figures will follow.

From our own workshop
What is honest here is mostly what is missing: we have not run it in production, we have no settings for individual materials, and anything we might tell you about cut edges or cycle times we would have copied from someone else. We have seen it twice — at IFA 2026 in Berlin, announced and behind glass, and since recently as a test unit in the Regionalladen Gedern. The appeal is in what the concept merges: until now cutting meant the P2 and marking metal meant the F2 Ultra, so two machines, two spots, two extraction paths. The X1 wants both in one enclosure, with the laser source becoming a module instead of a machine. Whether that holds up day to day is not decided by datasheet figures but by the changeover between two jobs. That is exactly what we are finding out here, and what comes of it will be written in this spot.

It stands in Gedern, but you cannot book the appointment on it. You can still see it during an appointment for one of the other machines there.
