The station takes work off the counter, not off the laser. In our retail costing the most expensive item is not the machine but the staff time it ties up — and the share of that spent on layout and queries moves here to the customer, who experiences it as part of the occasion rather than as waiting. The second effect appears in no table: someone who laid out their own artwork and approved it on screen is far less likely to say “that is not what I wanted” at handover. On personalised goods that sentence is always a write-off. The station drives five machines directly: the F2, F2 Ultra UV, F1 Ultra, O1 Omni and the Apparel Printer. Ours in Gedern are the O1 Omni and the F2 Ultra UV, where the job goes from screen to machine with nothing in between. Everything else, the F2 Ultra for instance, takes the result via a computer; that works, but it is one more step and therefore staff time again. The hurdle is not the hardware but the licence: the kiosk runs on Customthings, which needs a contract of its own. The small business licence you set up entirely yourself, no need for us. The enterprise licence is a different matter — we are one of the few xTool contacts in Germany who sell and set it up. That is the item missing from most quotes, and the one we talk through before making a recommendation.
